Terms of Service

Muffler is operated by FUNGEE LLC. By using Muffler, you agree to these Terms of Service and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Muffler.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Muffler. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Muffler only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

Muffler is a browser extension and website that helps you filter content on X. Muffler lets you create filters in plain English, blur matched posts in place, review history, give feedback, and manage credits and entitlements.

Muffler uses remote evaluation to understand meaning and context. Filtering may be imperfect and may produce false positives or missed matches.

• You can start using Muffler without signing in. Muffler may provision an anonymous backend account so your filters, history, credits, and entitlements can persist.
• Muffler does not support email-and-password sign-in in v1.
• You may later attach a Google or Apple identity to the same Muffler account.
• Billing and account recovery require an attached identity.
• You are responsible for activity that occurs through your Muffler account and for keeping access to your devices and linked sign-in methods secure.

• New Muffler accounts receive a one-time starter grant of 1000 credits.
• One credit means one post evaluated by Muffler's backend service.
• Credit packs are one-time purchases, not recurring subscriptions.
• The Special Founders Plan is a limited-quantity, single-user, non-transferable entitlement that removes normal credit and filter limits for one person.
• If credits are exhausted on a non-founders account, Muffler may automatically fall back to a single active filter until additional credits or a qualifying entitlement are available.

Purchases made through Muffler are final and non-refundable except where required by law or where Muffler expressly states otherwise in writing. Credits have no cash value, are not redeemable for cash, and are not a bank account or stored-value account.

You may not use Muffler to:

• Violate applicable law, the rights of others, or third-party platform rules.
• Share, resell, sublicense, or otherwise distribute founder access or any single-user entitlement to multiple people.
• Scrape, reverse engineer, probe, disable, or circumvent Muffler's limits, safety features, or access controls.
• Use Muffler in a fraudulent, abusive, or security-compromising way.
• Interfere with or disrupt Muffler, its providers, or other users.

Muffler may suspend or terminate access, disable entitlements, or take other protective action if Muffler reasonably believes there is abuse, fraud, legal risk, security risk, or a violation of these Terms. Shared or abusive use of the Special Founders Plan may result in suspension or termination.

Muffler depends on third-party services and platforms, including X, authentication providers, hosting and storage providers, AI providers, and billing providers. Muffler is not responsible for the independent acts, outages, policies, or changes of those third parties.

Muffler is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Muffler disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FUNGEE LLC and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill, or business opportunities.

Muffler's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to Muffler will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Muffler in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) US$100.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless FUNGEE LLCand its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and licensors from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to your misuse of Muffler or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Washington State, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to Muffler or these Terms must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Washington State, and you consent to those courts' personal jurisdiction and venue.

Muffler may update these Terms from time to time. If Muffler makes a material change, Muffler may update the version shown on this page, revise the last-updated date, and ask you to acknowledge the new version where appropriate. The related Privacy Policy version currently referenced by Muffler is privacy-v1.
